Overview

Keep your account secure by updating your password and enabling two-factor authentication (2FA).

Before you begin

  • Know your current password (for password change).
  • Install an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) for MFA.

Steps

Change password

  1. Open Settings → Account / Security (or your profile Password section).
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter a new password that meets the shown requirements (length, character types; cannot match recent passwords).
  4. Confirm the new password and click Save.

Enable two-factor authentication

  1. In the same security area, click Enable two-factor authentication / Set up MFA.
  2. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the secret key manually.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click Verify / Enable.
  4. Save backup/recovery codes (copy, download, or print) and store them securely.
  5. Optionally add a phone number for SMS recovery if offered.

Confirm sign-in

  1. Sign out and sign in again with the new password and MFA code to confirm setup.
  2. To manage devices or disable MFA later, return to Settings → Account / Security.

Verify it worked

  • Sign-in succeeds with password + MFA; backup codes are stored offline.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: MFA code rejected.
Solution: Ensure device time is automatic; enter the latest rotating code.
