Let customers pay invoices online with Stripe

Let customers pay invoices online with Stripe

Audience: Owner
Plan: All
Platform: Web
Time to complete: ~5 minutes

Overview

Enable online card payments on invoices after Stripe is connected so customers can pay from the invoice link in email.

Before you begin

  • You must be the Owner.
  • Complete connect-stripe (Connect your Stripe account) first—Stripe onboarding and bank details.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Company → Payments and confirm Stripe shows Connected. If not, click Connect Stripe (or Create a new Stripe account / Link existing Stripe account) and finish Stripe’s OAuth screens, then Return to Turf Pro Logic.
  2. Still under Payments, enable customer online payments (e.g. Allow customers to pay invoices online or Enable online payments). Save if a save button is shown.
  3. Open Settings → Company → Invoices & Estimates (or the invoice/document settings area) and confirm sent invoices include a Pay now / online payment option when enabled.
  4. Create or open a test invoice, Send it to your own email, and open the customer invoice link.
  5. Complete a small test mode payment on the link (use Stripe test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 if your account is in test mode). In live mode, use a real card only when you intend to charge.

⚠️ Note: Test mode vs live mode is controlled in your Stripe Dashboard. Test payments appear in Stripe test data; live payments settle to your connected bank.

Verify it worked

  • Settings → Company → Payments shows Stripe Connected (not disconnected or pending).
  • An unpaid invoice detail page shows Pay now (or equivalent) on the customer view / payment link section.
  • The Send Invoice email includes a payment link; the subject/body references the invoice number (e.g. “Invoice #1001 from …”).
  • The Stripe Dashboard shows the test payment (or webhook/event) for the charge.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: No Pay now on invoices.
Solution: Re-check Payments connection and online-payment toggle; resend the invoice after saving.
  • Problem: Payment link errors in test mode.
Solution: Confirm Stripe is in test mode and use Stripe test cards.
