Customize email templates for customers

Overview

Edit the emails customers receive for invoices, estimates, reminders, and receipts with your wording and merge tags.

Before you begin

  • You must be the Owner.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Email Templates (or More → Settings → Email Templates on mobile).
  2. Select a template to edit, such as Invoice Sent, Estimate Sent, Payment Reminder, Receipt, or Statement.
  3. Update Subject, Body, and From name / reply settings where allowed.
  4. Insert merge tags (e.g. {{customer_name}}, {{invoice_number}}, {{amount_due}}) from the tag picker.
  5. Click Preview to render sample data.
  6. Save changes, then Send test email to your address (or use preview) to confirm tags resolve correctly.

Verify it worked

  • Test email arrives with correct customer/invoice placeholders and branding.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: Tag shows literally in email.
    Solution: Use only supported tags from the picker; save template before sending test.
